RETRO-ILLUMINATION




This shows epithelial microcysts in 
the corneal epithelium from the 
wearing of an extended wear soft 
contact lens.  It is often easiest to 
detect such small defects along the 
edge of the retro-illumination, this is 
sometimes termed marginal 
retro-illumination.
